Time after time I find that happy endings --when the stress and toil and uncertainty of a deeply rummy situation melts into a golden "all clear"-- are a wonderful tonic. They restore the tissues. They feel like finally slouching in a favourire armchair, with a beverage at hand and not a care in the world. Jeeves may fail once, but never twice.

I do have to wonder if Jeeves intended everything to happen as it did, if he found the relationship unsuitable and sabotaged it with the same callow calmness he might trick Bertie out of some unfashionable clothing. Still, at least Corky isn’t destitute and won’t have to beg his cruel uncle for more, that’s something.
