This story was split in two for The Inimitable Jeeves much like the last one - into chapters called “Aunt Agatha Speaks Her Mind” and “Pearls Mean Tears”, you see - but dash it, I’ve also got the habit of calling it “Aunt Agatha Takes the Count” from time to time. Rummy business, titling and whatnot. Frightfully sorry about it.
If not for the bloomer on aunt Agatha's part mentioned in the title, I would feel rather down in the wine and spirits myself, cummerbund or no cummerbund. (/By the way, I wonder what the etymology of "cummerbund" may be... It sounds somewhat Malaysian to me, but I may be wrong...). Waiting for the dénouement, then, if that's the correct term.
It turns out I had drifted too much East with the cummerbund etymology... Not Malaysian but Hindustani via Persian. So that at least is settled...
